Industrial Pipe Bending Process
Pipe busbar bending machine can bend any type of metal pipes irrespective of the material or size and these machines range from handheld machines, hinged devices as well as large sized hydraulic powered machines. There are different processes used to bend metals. Given below are some of them.
Press bending is used on cold tubes and here a die that is in the shape of the bend is used to press on the pipe and this in turn forces the pipe to be shaped in the form of the curve. However in this method, the pipe does not have any support inside and due to this there are chances of the metal getting deformed. So press process works best when uniform cross section in the pipe is not required.
Rotary draw process
Rotary draw is a process that offers you precise finish and this process uses die sets which has two parts namely the former die as well as the counter die. The shape is created by the former die and counter die pushes the material into the former die. These benders can be programmed to store various bend jobs and this process is used to bend pipes for motor vehicle roll cages, handles, handrails and more. They also create perfect bends when the right die sets are used to create bends.
Three roll push
Three roll push processes is a freeform being process and it is used to create geometries that consist of several bending curves as well as 3d shaping. Here the metal bend profile is guided between two rolls, the bending as well as the supporting roll. The forming roll is the third roll and this helps define the radius of the bend.
Heat induction process:
In the heat induction process an induction coil is used to bend the pipe and this coil is placed at the bend point. The coil heats up to temperatures of 430 to 1200 degrees centigrade. Once the pipe is heated, pressure is applied on the pipe and this pressure bends the pipe. The pipe is then cooled down using a water or air spray. This process is sued to bend large pipes that are used as petroleum pipe lines, freeway signs as well as power plants.
